The Fertitta brothers decided to sell the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) back in 2016. Now longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogand and veteran mixed martial arts referee “Big” John McCarthy have come forward with their thoughts on the matter.
Back in 2016, the UFC was sold to Endeavor for a massive sum of over $4 billion. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Joe Rogan and John McCarthy recently revealed that they believe the promotion may have been sold for more than necessary.
“The issue is the price.” Rogan said. “They had to pay $4 billion for something that is probably worth two.” McCarthy quickly interjected that he believed the promotion was worth “half” the $4 billion selling price.
“I’m not a business person, but that just seems like a lot of money.” Rogan finished. For their full thoughts check out the video above.
