Well, the moment has finally come. Gennady Golovkin is about to step inside the squared circle once again. While it is not for the fight many fans have been fervently waiting for, “Triple G” still managed to put on a stunning show for the Las Vegas crowd.

WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin was initially targeted to throw down with Canelo Alvarez for a highly anticipated rematch. The two first went toe-to-toe back in 2017, from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

However, the fight ultimately ended in a highly controversial draw. Consequently, boxing fans have been fervently waiting for a rematch between the two pugilist phenoms.

Well, the two were locked in to go at it inside the same T-Mobile Arena today for Cinco De Mayo. However, Alvarez has been suspended after failing drug tests.

Vanes Martirosyan made his middleweight debut on short notice against “GGG” for tonight’s headliner, replacing the highly anticipated rematch fans have been waiting for. Martirosyan put on quite the display, but ultimately suffered a difficult defeat to his world class opponent.

Pummeling his way to another victory, Golovkin has managed to add another finish to his astounding record.
