Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader put on a dominant performance over the weekend. Now the fighter has come forward with a message for his defeated foe.
The highly anticipated fight card for Bellator 199 went down on Saturday night, May 12. The event took place inside the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
Headlining the night’s card, Ryan Bader went toe-to-toe with Muhammed Lawal in the first round of the heavyweight tournament grand prix. Bader earned a knockout victory over Lawal within the first 15 seconds of their match.
Taking to Twitter, Lawal would go on to offer a few respectful words to Bader after the loss.
“This is MMA. Things don’t always go the way you expected. Congratulations to @ryanbader for his big win tonight. He deserves it. Now, this being said, It’s now time for me to move to the Middleweight division”

Now Bader has decided to returned the gesture.
“You’re the man Mo, honor to have competed against you the last 18 years and share the cage with you.”
