Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will be looking to rebound from a tough loss to reigning champion Daniel Cormier in his next match up. Now the fighter has come forward with a statement concerning his next opponent.
Oezdemir went toe-to-toe with Cormier back at UFC 220, ultimately suffering a second round TKO loss to the fighter. Now the Switzerland native is set to face off against former champion Mauricio Rua in a battle for division dominance.
“Shogun” and Oezdemir will face off on the highly anticipated fight card of UFC Fight Night 134. The event will take place July 22 in Hamburg, Germany.
Taking to Instagram, Oezdemir has decided to let Rua know that he intends to knock the fighter out. However, Oezdemir would like to communicate the message respectfully.
