It would appear that competitors within the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s flyweight division are having a more difficult time finding their way onto a main card than most.
The UFC flyweight division is the only division to not feature a fight on the main card of a of a UFC event within the year of 2018. The most recent time a flyweight fighter was on a main card was way back at UFC 218, in which Henry Cejudo earned a victory over Sergio Pettis.
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson holds the No. 1 spot within the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings. The fighter holds the record for the most consecutive UFC title defenses.
With that in mind, the fighter is also consistently the weakest of the promotion’s pay-per-view draws when it comes to reigning champions. Now it would appear that the effect lingers among the rest of the division.
