Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom Mackenzie Dern missed weight for her upcoming octagon performance. Now another fighter on the roster of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has come forward with her thoughts on the matter.
Mackenzie Dern has had some issues making weight in the past. The fighter has missed weight twice in her mixed martial arts career leading up to UFC 224.
At the official weigh-ins for Saturday’s live pay-per-view event, Dern missed weight for the third time. Hitting the scales, Dern weighed in at over 123 pounds, nearly eight pounds overweight.
Still, Dern’s opponent Amanda Cooper accepted a catchweight fight against the grappling ace. Dern will also be fined 30 percent of her fight purse for the match up.
Taking to Instagram, UFC women’s bantamweight Gina Mazany has decided to offer her thoughts on Dern’s decision to promote a sponsored scale ahead of her erroneous weigh-in. Check it out below:
