The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made its big debut in Santiago, Chile over the weekend. Now fighters are coming forward over social media with their thoughts on the night’s headliner.
UFC Fight Night 129 went down on Saturday, May 19, inside the Movistar Arena. In the night’s main event, UFC welterweight Kamaru Usman went toe-to-toe with Demian Maia. Maia accepted the fight on short notice, after Santiago Ponzinibbio was forced out of the fight due to an injury.
The fight ultimately went the distance, with the match drawing in some heated criticism for its slow pace and mostly uneventful conclusion. The match went the distance, with Usman walking away from the 25 minute slog as the victor by unanimous decision.
