CM Punk, known as Phil Brooks outside of the WWE world, is now set to make his big octagon return. Hearing the news that Punk is scheduled to appear on a live pay-per-view main card, Mark Coleman has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
CM Punk made his octagon debut against Mickey Gall, ultimately ending in a swift submission loss that sent the former WWE star back to the proverbial drawing board for nearly two years. Now Punk will face off against Mike Jackson in the opening main card match up for UFC 225.
The highly anticipated fight card will take place June 9 inside the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
Taking to Twitter, Mark Coleman went on to make the following statement concerning Punk getting a pay-per-view slot on the card.
“Sometimes u have to make exceptions.$ I’m excited for this fight . I wish @CMPunk the best! But I understand.”
