Former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre has not competed inside the octagon since vacating his middleweight title. Now UFC President Dana White has come forward to reveal that the French-Canadian phenom is retires, as far as he is concerned.
Georges St-Pierre first vacated is welterweight title after a lengthy and illustrious career within the division. After taking a four year hiatus from the sport, St-Pierre elected to make his big octagon return in a battle for the UFC middleweight title.
After finishing Michael Bisping for the belt, St-Pierre would later vacate the new title. Having been stricken with a debilitating case of colitis, St-Pierre put his mixed martial arts career on hiatus once again.
Speaking to TSN, Dana White offered his thoughts on St-Pierre’s fighting future. To the UFC President, the former two-division champion may be done.
“We’ve been talking about a fight with ‘GSP,’ but ‘GSP’ is retired. As far as I’m concerned, ‘GSP’ is retired right now. He’s not interested in fighting anybody.”
“We were trying to do a fight with him and Nate Diaz in Los Angeles, and ‘GSP’ doesn’t want the fight. ‘GSP’ doesn’t want to fight right now. He’s not interested in fighting.”
