Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler is reportedly nearing the end of his fight contract with the mixed martial arts promotion. Now rumblings have begun that the former title holder may be making a move over to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Michael Chandler is riding a first round submission victory over Brandon Girtz from back at Bellator 197, putting the fighter on a two fight winning streak. Now ESPN has come forward to claim via their undisclosed sources that Chandler is nearing the end of his Bellator MMA contract.
The sources did not, however, disclose exactly how many fights are left on the former champion’s contract. Still, ESPN reported that Chandler is seemingly interested in possibly moving over to the UFC once negotiations begin.
