Breaking: McGregor vs. Khabib Reportedly In The Works For UFC 229 Headliner

It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) may be looking to lock down a highly anticipated octagon war between reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former title holder Conor McGregor for an upcoming pay-per-view event.

Conor McGregor had his court date in New York on Friday, June 15, following a fracas inside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center that took place on April 5. “Notorious” allegedly attacked a bus filled with UFC fighters, with Khabib Nurmagomedov having reportedly been the target.

McGregor’s management revealed at the recent court hearing that the fighter’s camp is focusing on the legal matters at hand before addressing McGregor’s fighting future. However, UFC President Dana White recently revealed that he and “Notorious” are now planning to have a meeting concerning the fighter’s future on June 18.

With Khabib Nurmagomedov having already claimed an interest in taking a rest following his title earning victory until the final quarter of the year, a fight between “The Eagle” and the Ireland native would be unlikely for this summer. However, news source MMA Team Dagestan has come forward to report that the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is currently working on locking down the two fighters for a match up at the end of the year.

The news source has been accurate on all news concerning Khabib Nurmagomedov in the past and is now claiming that the fighter is being targeted for a match against Conor McGregor at UFC 229. UFC 229 goes down Oct. 6 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Dana White has previously stated that the two fighters will have to throw down in Las Vegas, rather than Russia as many fight fans originally predicted. Check out the original report down below:
