The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is currently gearing up for another exciting night of fights. However, it would appear that the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion will now be short one bout for tonight’s big card.
The highly anticipated fight card of UFC Fight Night 131 is set to go down tonight, June 1, inside the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York. While the night’s headlining bantamweight war between Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes is still set to go down, the fight card has lost one of the night’s earlier match ups on just moments notice.
UFC women’s strawweights Jessica Aguilar and Jodie Esquibel were initially set to throw down on the UFC Fight Pass prelims for the night. However, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani has since gone to social media to report that his undisclosed sources have claimed the fight has been cancelled.
Helwani reported that the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) pulled Aguilar from the fight due to an undisclosed medical issue.
