UFC women’s strawweights Carla Esparza and Claudia Gadelha went toe-to-toe over the weekend. Following Esparza’s tough decision loss to her opponent, the “Cookie Monster” has come forward to demand an immediate rematch.
The two mixed martial artists went toe-to-toe on the preliminary card of UFC 225 on Saturday, June 9. After going all three rounds, Gadelha walked away with a split decision victory.
Appearing on the latest edition of The MMA Hour on June 11, Carla Esparza accused Claudia Gadelha of cheating during their fight.
“Flat out this is not an excuse because I lost, because I honestly feel that I still won.” Esparza said. “But, she cheated in the fight. She greased before the fight. I was considering saying something to the ref in between the fight.
“I was going to say like, ‘She’s greasing.” Esparza continued. “But, I didn’t really know how to go about it. It’s pretty shady, to me.”
Since then, Esparza has come forward over social media to call out Gadelha for an immediate rematch after showing some interesting statistics from their octagon battle. Check it out below:
