Chicago, Illinois is hosting an exciting night of fights over the weekend. With two stunningly talented UFC women’s strawweights now set to throw down, here is a look at the UFC results.
The highly anticipate fight card of UFC 225 is going down this Saturday, June 9, from inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. While the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s main card is set to take place live on pay-per-view, the UFC 225 prelims are currently taking place on a live FS1 broadcast.
Continuing the exciting night of fights, UFC women’s strawweights Claudia Gadelha and Carla Esparza are now throwing down for the Chicago crowd.
Gadelha fired out of the gate with some stunning strikes that sent Esparza on her back foot. Esparza attempted a takedown on the fighter, but was immediately stuffed.
However, Esparza retaliated with a flurry of punches that sent Gadelha to the canvas. The stunning round had the Chicago crowd cheering and on their feet.
The second round kicked off at a slower pace, as both fighters appeared somewhat gassed from their intense first five minutes. Still, Gadelha managed to take her opponent down multiple times and controlled her opponent for much of the round.
This was seemingly a dominant five minutes for Gadelha.
In the final five minutes of the fight, Gadelha managed to control her opponent for much of the round once again. The mixed martial artist slammed Esparza into the canvas early on, pummeling her opponent with some vicious ground and pound.
However, Esparza managed to finish the round in a dominant position over her opponent. Dishing out some final ground and pound, Esparza certainly managed to stay in the fight to the very end.
This one has gone the distance.
