Former WWE superstar CM Punk is gearing up for his big octagon return. That being said, the professional wrestler turned mixed martial artist decided not to actively practice during the recent open workouts.
CM Punk will be looking to rebound from a devastating loss to Mickey Gall from his octagon debut as he faces off against Mike Jackson on the live pay-per-view main card of UFC 225.
Speaking in a media scrum on his decision to simply talk at the recent open workout, rather than train for the crowd, Punk offered a few words.
“It’s a scheduling thing and it’s an anxiety thing. I got severe anxiety. Unfortunately it is (something I deal with in day-to-day life).”
“I’m comfortable in the gym, obviously. I don’t like people — if I was training and somebody walks in and started watching, I wouldn’t know and I would be fine. It’s whatever. As weird as it sounds, I’ll be fine fighting, but it’s just the training. I don’t know. I’m like a weirdo.
“I don’t know. It just is different. I know (I was) wrestling in front of a hundred thousand people in my underwear, but it’s just different. I have anxiety. It’s a thing.”
“ In general, benzodiazepines should only be prescribed for a short period (for example, 2 to 4 weeks). The extension of the period of treatment with Klonopin should not take place without re-evaluation of the need to continue therapy. Long-term use of the drug is not recommended.”
“I barely go to punk shows anymore, because being in a crowd of people, it just makes me — ehh. This is starting to freak me out, now that I’m talking about it. Duke (Roufus) wasn’t here too. It’s more or less, I definitely want to get (a workout) in with my team in a little bit, right at 9 (pm) when I’m scheduled to fight.”
