Rumors have been flying that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will be making an appearance at UFC 226 to call out the winner between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. Now a new rumor is claiming that Jon Jones may be taking on the former title holder.
Jon Jones is currently awaiting the USADA hearing for his latest drug test failure. With it not being the fighter’s first flagged test failure, Jones could be facing a suspension of multiple years.
Beyond that, Brock Lesnar will have to re-enter the USADA testing pool in order to finish his suspension from the octagon for his drug test failure. With all of that in mind, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes that Jon Jones may be facing Brock Lesnar in the near future.
“I’m not basing this on anything that I’ve heard from UFC insiders or anything like that, I believe Jon Jones will get a one-year retroactive (suspension) and will be fighting again. There have been whispers of him vs. Brock Lesnar and that’s what I think is going to happen. I think he’s be back fighting pretty soon.”
