UFC welterweight Colby Covington has become a polarizing figure due to his willingness to trash-talk anyone that crosses his path. Following a recent verbal exchange between Covington and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, color-commentator Jon Anik has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
Colby Covington earned the UFC interim welterweight title on Saturday, June 9, by defeating Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225. Michael Bisping was at the UFC on FOX desk for the night and shared some heated words with the fighter after the event.
In one of Bisping’s first questions to Covington during the live broadcast, “The Count” asked the newly crowned interim champion “why are you going to be a prick?” The full interview may be viewed within the video provided above.
After hearing the exchange, Jon Anik took to Twitter to offer a heated statement concerning Bisping’s trash-talking of the fighter.
“Was disgraceful. It’s Colby’s night and moment. Pretty stunning that they’d allow an analyst to steal his shine.”
