Two-time former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has not competed inside the octagon since his first round TKO victory over Travis Browne back in 2016. Now one of the former title holder’s teammates has come forward with a few words on Velasquez’s potential octagon return.
Velasquez’s career has been seemingly debilitated by injuries, with the fighter having been recovering for quite some time now. Speaking at a meeting with fans in Ufa, Fellow American Kickboxing Academy teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov has come forward with a few word on what it would take to get the former title holder back inside the octagon.
“I myself am a big fan of Velasquez, we train together. I talked with him a lot about his next fight. He says: ‘I was already a two-time UFC champion. I won, lost, then came back again and won again. I felt these feelings and now I want to fight for money. The money they offer me, I earn even when I do not fight. I do not need to fight for the money they give me.'”
