Colby Covington put on a title earning performance in his latest octagon outing. Now fighters and fight fans alike are coming forward with their thoughts on his performance. Father of Khabib Nurmagomedov can now be counted among them.
Colby Covington went toe-to-toe with former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event of UFC 225 on June 9. The fight went the distance, with Covington ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory over his opponent for the interim welterweight title.
As reported by an insider source, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov recently offered a few words on the matter. The Sambo veteran stated:
“Wrestling of Colby? Good, yes. But not our level. Better than Dos Anjos, but, again, not our level. There is no one in the world better than us. If we take the wrestling, Makhachkala is in the first place.”
