UFC women’s strawweight Mackenzie Dern is currently riding a stunning victory from her sophomore octagon performance. That being said, the undefeated fighter also just missed weight for the third time in her mixed martial arts career. Now Dern is utilizing the UFC’s Performance Institute in the wake of her latest missed weight.
Dern put her undefeated streak on the line at UFC 224 in a match up against Amanda Cooper. The fight was ultimately a cathweight affair, as Dern missed weight for the event by over seven pounds.
Dern ultimately earned a first round submission victory over her opponent. But, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom has still earned some heated criticism from fight fans for her latest missed weight.
Now Dern has taken to social media to share a photo of herself visiting the UFC Performance Institute. The institute is a training center for fighters, but also aids fighters in their dieting and weight loss practices.
Check out Dern’s comment on the institute down below:
“Thanks @ufc for helping me reach my goals! @ufcpi making me a better fighter”
