Mackenzie Dern Polls Her Fans, Gets Overwhelmingly Fat Shamed For It

UFC women’s strawweight Mackenzie Dern missed the mark at the weigh-ins for her latest octagon debut. Since then, the fighter has been receiving some serious heat from fight fans.

Dern missed weight on two different occasions before being signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom then went on to make weight for her octagon debut, ultimately earning a split decision victory over Ashley Yoder.

However, the fighter then missed weight for her women’s strawweight match up against Amanda Cooper for UFC 224 by a staggering total of seven pounds. Taking to Instagram, Dern has since decided to open a poll with her fans.

“Who would you guys like to see me fight next and at what division?” Dern stated.

The social media message has since drawn the ire of many fight fans.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the more notable fan comments:

“The urge of eating too much…that’s who you should fight. Make the weight or move up.”

“I think you can cut enough weight to fight Bob Sapp”

“Missingthe weight by 3.5kg I reallydont care until you prove ypu can fight inside the rules! Id rather quit than fight overweight as a proffessional!”

“Your brain for letting you talk in a different accent”

“@matthew_demello not taking this even a slightly seriously having 7p overweight coming into the fight is a disrespectful towards an opponent and fans. You dont get shit done 50% while being proffessional. You probably wont pay ppw and dont watch prelims etc so wtf do you care if she gets mauled by fans or not lol?”

“we would like you to make weight”

“The urge of eating too much…that’s who you should fight. Make the weight or move up.”

“Doesn’t matter what division you still won’t make weight”

“Maybe somebody in the 135 or 145 weight classes so you can actually make weight.”

“Brock Lesnar maybe…. jk can you make 125?”

“If you can make 185 i would like to see you against @stylebender with him being drunk and blind at the same time”
