UFC superstar Conor McGregor finally had his court hearing on Thursday, June 14. Now McGregor’s manager Audie Attar has come forward with a few words on the matter.
“Notorious” is facing multiple misdemeanor charges of assault, as well as a felony charge of criminal mischief for an incident that took place on April 5. Conor McGregor allegedly attacked a bus filled with red corner fighters for UFC 223 from inside a loading dock with the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Consequently, “Notorious” had his court date on Thursday back in New York. McGregor and his team informed the court that they plan on pursuing a plea deal. The court was quickly dismissed shortly after, as the former multi-division champion is now expected back in court to enter the plea on July 26.
Speaking to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, Audie Attar revealed that McGregor’s camp is currently focusing on his legal matters rather than his fighting future. Consequently, “Notorious” may not enter the octagon for a quite a while longer.
“Today we’re here to focus on court, we’re not going to focus on any future plans until we handle this matter.” Attar said. “Right now we’re in good negotiations with the district attorney, so we’re going to focus on that and we’ll focus on the future later.”
