Former WWE superstar CM Punk is currently set to throw down in his big octagon return. With that in mind, the professional wrestler turned mixed martial artist’s upcoming opponent has since come forward with an intriguing statement.
CM Punk suffered a tough loss to Mickey Gall in his octagon debut. Similarly, upcoming opponent Mike Jackson faced the same fate in his first UFC performance.
Now Jackson and Punk are set to go toe-to-toe on the highly anticipated live pay-per-view main card of UFC 225. The event will take place June 9 from within the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
Speaking to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani in a recent interview, Mike Jackson decided to compare himself to WWE superstar John Cena.
“I’m coming in to the most hostile of territories.” Jackson said. “I feel like I’m going to be the John Cena fighting in Chicago. But, I’m ready. They can’t help him out Saturday night.”
