Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson and longtime promoter Don King have not been on the best of terms over the years. Well, the two boxing notables crossed paths at the recent Boxing Hall of Fame induction in Canastota, New York.
Tyson and King were once seemingly good friends. Tyson drew in pay-per-views with his incredible performances, as King intrepidly promoted the pugilist.
However, the relationship soon fizzled. Tyson would go on to sue King for $100 million, claiming that the promoter had held back numerous payments.
During the recent Boxing Hall of Fame induction, Tyson threw a cup of water on the promoter in a fit of animosity. Later Tyson spoke to media and revealed that the incident was not a stunt.
“That was me being immature, I shouldn’t have done that. But, you know, he touched me, he tapped me on my shoulder … it’s just, I don’t know.
“He talked in there like he was my friend and that was just bullcrap.”
