Ember Morr, UFC VP of Consumer Products, has come forward to offer an update on the use of glove sensors within the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Now it would appear that the system is significantly improving statistical accuracy.
Speaking to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), Morr revealed that there are three major areas in which stats are improving in terms of accuracy.
Punch detection have improved by 6 percent. Punch type application has seen a 17 percent boon. Lastly, whether a punch landed or missed has imrpoved by 7 percent.
“We want to be able to make it so everybody understands,” UFC vice president of regulatory affairs Marc Ratner explained to NSAC. “It’s going to take time. But it’s going to be big for the sport.”
