The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up to celebrate the promotion’s 25th anniversary this year. With that in mind, it has been revealed that the UFC plans on holding the 25th Anniversary Event within the same city that hosted the promotion’s first ever fight night.
The UFC quickly made its way to being known as the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion by hosting some of the sport’s most entertaining and memorable match ups, consistently producing legends of MMA within the UFC’s roster. Now nearly 25 years later, the UFC is planning on hosting an event titled ‘Faces of UFC’ in honor of the promotion’s upcoming anniversary.
The event has already been announced for Nov. 10, two days prior to the anniversary date of the promotion. Now Combate has reported that the UFC is planning an event in Denver, Colorado for Nov. 10.
UFC 1: The Beginning took place Nov. 10, 1993 in Denver, Colorado. Royce Gracie won the tournament by taking out Gerard Gordeau with a submission by rear-naked choke.
