Phil Brooks, better known by his WWE moniker CM Punk, returned to the octagon over the weekend. Following the former WWE star’s second tough loss inside the octagon, fighters have begun to come forward with their thoughts on the recent defeat.
Professional wrestlers turning to mixed martial arts is not a new phenomenon. After all, WWE star Brock Lesnar went on to become a UFC heavyweight champion.
However, CM Punk entered the sport back in 2016 with no prior experience within the world of martial arts or combat sports. Brock Lesnar was an NCAA Division One heavyweight champion before he ever became a WWE star.
Well, Punk suffered a devastating first round submission loss in his octagon debut to Mickey Gall. Two years later, Punk stepped inside the octagon to face fellow 0-1 fighter Mike Jackson at UFC 225 on Saturday, June 9.
Jackson put on a stunning performance over his opponent, ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory. Check out what many fighters had to say about the match within the Twitter messages provided below.
