UFC President Dana White Confirms Brock Lesnar vs. Jon Jones Is The Fight To Make

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been targeting a fight against former UFC heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar ever since making his octagon return at UFC 214. Now UFC President Dana White has come forward to reveal that the fight is still on the table.

Jon Jones first called out Brock Lesnar after earning the UFC light heavyweight title with a knockout victory over heated rival Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. However, the victory was short lived.

Having failed a drug test for the event, Jon Jones was stripped of his title and the victory was overturned to a no contest. The fighter has since been stripped of his fighting license by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) and is awaiting a hearing from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has been back in the WWE after being dealt a one-year suspension for a failed drug test of his own. With the suspension having been served, fight fans are hopeful the former title holder will soon make an octagon return.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, UFC President Dana White offered an update on the matter.

“I know that Brock’s WWE deal is up at the end of the summer, I think. I know he wants to fight so I’m sure we’ll end up getting that figured out.”

“That’s [Lesnar vs. Ngannou] a fun fight, absolutely. Obviously there’s a lot of options. Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock Lesnar is very interested in Jon Jones.”

As far as Jones’ USADA hearing is concerned, Dana White offered a few words.

“I don’t know [when the hearing is], I’ll end up figuring that out in the next month. I don’t know how that’s gonna play out. That’s up to USADA. USADA’s going to decide that,” White explained before adding a fight between Lesnar and Jones is still on his radar, “Oh yeah, they both want it, it’s a fun fight.”
