Mixed martial arts veteran Wanderlei Silva has a longs standing rivalry with fellow former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen. While the two never managed to meet inside the octagon, following Sonnen’s suspension from the cage, Silva did face off against the fighter under the Bellator banner.
While Sonnen may be Silva’s largest rival to date, “The Axe Murderer” is still confident that Sonnen may earn the Bellator heavyweight title in the current tournament grand prixe. Sonnen is currently set to face off against Fedor Emelianenko in the tournament’s semi-finals.
“After fight against Sonnen, Sonnen can be the champion of this tournament.” Silva said. “He is doing good. He’s strong.”
