Wrong Fighter Announced As Winner, And Buffer Wasn’t Having it

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted a series of exciting fights over the weekend. However, there was one moment during the event in which one of the day’s referees unexpectedly drew the attention of the crowd.

The highly anticipated fight card for UFC Fight Night 132 took place on Saturday, June 23. From within the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, a collection of intense match ups went down for fight fans world wide.

Featured on the day’s card, UFC women’s strawweights Xiaonan Yan and Viviane Pereira faced off for the Singapore crowd. The fight ultimately went all three rounds, with Yan earning a unanimous decision victory over her opponent.

However, when it came time for the referee to raise the hand of the winner, the individual erroneously raised Pereira’s hand as Bruce Buffer called out the correct winner of the fight.

Buffer could then be seen yelling the proper instructions to the officials within the octagon during the incident, before the referee corrected himself and raised Yan’s hand instead. Check it out within the video above.
