While the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is always on the prowl for new match ups to make, sometimes already announced bouts ultimately never make it inside the octagon. Now it would appear that two fighters have each been pulled from their previously scheduled match ups.
UFC women’s strawweight Alexa Grasso was initially set to take on Angela Hill at UFC Fight Night 135 on Aug. 25 from within the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. However, ESPN has since reported that Grasso has withdrawn from the match up for undisclosed reasons.
Meanwhile, former UFC light heavyweight title challengers Volkan Oezdemir and Alexander Gustafsson were initially set to throw down on the highly anticipated live pay-per-view card of UFC 227. The event goes down Aug. 4 from within the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
However, as reported by MMA Fighting, Volkan Oezdemir has been forced off of the card after suffering an injury.
