Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has not competed inside the octagon for quite some time. Now it would appear that the former title holder is trying a bold negotiation strategy with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Cain Velasquez recently paid a visit to the WWE Performance Center. There, the former UFC champion received some top notch training in the world of professional wrestling.
“I had a great time over the last couple days getting a few workouts in at the #wweperformancecenter and attending @wwenxt. Thanks to everyone at @wwe for the Invite and first-class treatment. #LuchaLibre”
“A huge thanks to Norman Smiley and Johnny Moss for showing me the ropes at the #wweperformancecenter. Your coaching staff and athletes are amazing. Thanks again @wwe.”
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, reporter Dave Meltzer revealed that Velasquez is negotiating a new deal with the UFC. The reporter then claimed that Velasquez’s trip to the WWE Performance Center was because the fighter “wanted to show UFC that he’s got other options.”
