UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormer became the second UFC fighter in history to simultaneously wield two division titles on Saturday. That being said, the newly crowned UFC heavyweight champion now claims that AKA teammate and two-time former title holder Cain Velasquez is still the best heavyweight around.
Daniel Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic within the first round for the heavyweight title on Saturday, July 7, within the main event of UFC 226. During the UFC 226 Post-Fight Press Conference, Cormier revealed his thoughts on his teammate Cain Velaquez, who has been out of action due to injuries for some time now.
“Let me tell you something. The reason the fight was so easy today was because for the last eight weeks I’ve been getting beat up by Cain Velasquez. He’s still the best, man. He’s the best heavyweight the UFC has ever seen. He does things that you just don’t expect somebody to do.”
