Daniel Cormier Knocks Out Stipe Miocic In Round One, Becomes Two Weight Champ | UFC Results

The time has finally come. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic are now meeting inside the octagon for the super fight of the year.

Fight fans are pouring into the highly coveted T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. tonight, July 7. Directly in the heat of International Fight Week, UFC 226 is taking place for the Las Vegas crowd.

Headlining the night’s card, Daniel Cormier is going up in weight to challenge Stipe Miocic for his title. If Cormier wins, the fighter will be the second competitor in UFC history to ever simultaneously wield two division titles. The only fighter to ever achieve that feat is none other than UFC megastar Conor McGregor.

However, Cormier has an intensely difficult challenge ahead of him. Stipe Mioic holds the record for the most consecutive title defenses within the UFC heavyweight division with three consecutive victories as the champion. Now the two mixed martial artists are throwing down inside the octagon. Check out the UFC results from the year’s most highly anticipated heavyweight war down below.

The fight opened up at a methodical pace. Cormier began hunting for a clinch, as Miocic began teeing off on his opponent.

However, Miocic appeared to be one step ahead of his opponent. Trading in the center of the octagon, Cormier retaliated with a flurry of punches that put Miocic on his back foot.

Cormier then knocked out Miocic with a right hand, bringing an end to the fight.
