The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Las Vegas, Nev. at the moment for International Fight Week. Now fight fans are beginning to pour into the illustrious T-Mobile Arena for the latest fight card from the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion.
This time around, the UFC is hosting the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 226 for the Las Vegas crowd. Headlining the night’s event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be challenging UFC heavyweight title holder Stipe Miocic for his belt live on pay-per-view.
Kicking off the night’s event, aired live on UFC Fight Pass, women’s strawweights Jamie Moyle and Emily Whitmire are now set to go toe-to-toe in a battle for division dominance. Check out the UFC results from the mighty match up down below.
The first round kicked off at a methodical pace. Team Alpha Male’s Moyle employed a lot of footwork, but Whitmire appeared to be the busier striker between the two fighters. Ultimately, Moyle seemed to get the better of her opponent on the feet.
Moyle found her rhythm in the second round, opening up with a sting of brutal shots to her opponent. Whitmire kept up her swift pace of strikes, but failed to land cleanly with many of her blows. This was seemingly a good round for Moyle.
The final round took place largely on the ground, as Whitmire managed to get her opponent to the canvas. Moyle eliminated much of Whitmire’s ground and pound with a close guard, as the fight ultimately went the distance.
UFC Results: Emily Whitmire def. Jamie Moyle via unanimous decision (29-28 X3)
