Heavyweight MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko was reportedly approached by the FBI ahead of his fight against Frank Mir back at Bellator 198. Speaking to crimerussia, Emelianenko has come forward with a few words on the brief visit.
“We returned to the hotel, and the FBI officer was waiting for us. He introduced himself, gave his business card and said that we should go directly to him in the case of force majeure situations.”
“The Last Emperor” headlined briefly competed for the Affliction promotion, Pres. Donald Trumps’ lawyer Michael Cohen was the COO of the promotion at the time. Some have come to speculate that the recent FBI visit was concerning Emelianenko’s connection to Pres. Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
