Las Vegas, Nev. is hosting a stunning night of fights within the T-Mobile Arena this weekend. In the heat of International Fight Week, the illustrious arena has become the home for UFC 226’s highly anticipated fight card.
The event is going down this Saturday, July 7, offering fight fans a series of exciting match ups. Continuing the night’s live pay-per-view main card, lightweights Michael Chiesa and former champion Anthony Pettis are going toe-to-toe for the Las Vegas crowd.
Chiesa missed weight for the match up, but Pettis accepted a catchweight bout against the fighter for 30 percent of Chiesa’s fight purse. The UFC results from the match up can be seen below.
The fight opened up at a blistering pace, as Anthony Pettis went in for a standing guillotine before being taken down by Michael Chiesa. However, the former champion managed to make it back to his feet.
Pettis finished the round on a positive note, opening up a series of striking on Chiesa.
Pettis opened up an onslaught of strikes on his opponent in the second round, dropping Chiesa to the canvas. Pettis then locked in an arm triangle attempt where he forced the Ultimate Fighter winner to tap.
