By knocking out Stipe Miocic in round one of Saturday’s UFC 226 main event, newly minted two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier earned a dream fight against Brock Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar has long been rumored to be eyeing a return to the UFC, and now that return is official.
UFC President Dana White took to Saturday’s UFC 226 post fight press conference to confirm that next for D.C. at heavyweight will be the returning former champion Brock Lesnar.
“We’re definitely going to make that fight,” White said.
The UFC president also clarified that Brock Lesnar will not be receiving an exemption from USADA, and must wait out six months in the drug testing pool before the fight can take place.
“I don’t know where they are in the process, but he’s going to pop up (on USADA’s list) here soon,” White said.
The UFC boss did not reveal a date or venue for the heavyweight title fight.
