The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Boise, Idaho this weekend to host another exciting night of fights. With the UFC Fight Pass prelims now going down, the time has come to take a look at the UFC results.
The highly anticipated fight card for UFC Fight Night 133 is taking place within the CenturyLink Arena for the Boise crowd this Saturday, July 7. Kicking off the night’s UFC Fight Pass prelims, women’s strawweights Jessica Aguilar and Jodie Esquibel are throwing down for division supremacy. Aguilar will be looking for redemption, as the fighter is on a two fight losing streak at the moment and has yet to earn a victory inside the octagon.
Aguilar poured on the pressure early in the fight. Aguilar managed to take her opponent down, but Esquibel quickly shot back to her feet.
Aguilar peppered her opponent with a series of jabs, as Esquibel began to string together combinations. This was seemingly a strong round for Aguilar.
Esquibel picked it up in the second round, powering through her opponent’s jabs in order to land some powerful bombs. Still, neither fighters were seemingly interested in backing down.
By the second half of round two, both fighters began to slow their pace. Esquibel and Aguilar kept things on the feet until the sound of the bell, making for a tough five minutes for the judges.
The two mixed martial artists left it all inside the octagon within the final round. Picking the pace back up, Aguilar began to walk down her opponent but suffered some brutal shots in the process.
Still, neither fighter was able to get a finish before the sound of the bell. This one has gone the distance.
UFC Results: Jessica Aguilar def. Jodie Esquibel via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
