The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has locked down UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley for a fight against rising challenger Darren Till. Consequently, interim champion Colby Covington has been left by the wayside. Now former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has come forward with a vicious statement for the interim title holder.
Colby Covington recently revealed that he does not want to fight until Dec., but the interim title holder wants “a little time off.” In response, the UFC pinned down Woodley and Till for a title fight at UFC 228.
The event will take place Sept. 8 in Dallas, Texas and will be featured live on pay-per-view. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has also revealed that interim welterweight champion Colby Covington is set to be stripped of his title the moment the fight begins.
Former UFC champion Michael Bisping has already talked some trash with Colby Covington. That being said, “The Count” brought things to a new level when he heard that the interim champion is now set to be stripped of his title.
Speaking to MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn, Bisping let his opinion be known on Colby Covington.
“That’s why I told Colby Covington to take a long walk off a short pier when he talked shit on that thing. Everyone was like, ‘Oh, he just won the belt, how can you talk shit?’ I said, ‘No he didn’t just win the belt!’ Is he the champion right now? No! Colby Covington, good luck going to President Trump with empty hands. At least I’m holding a beer, what are you holding, dumb (expletive)?”
