Bellator MMA is seemingly growing all of the time. The mixed martial arts promotion is steadily acquiring top MMA competitors from Lyoto Machida to Gegard Mousasi. Beyond that, Bellator MMA recently landed a new broadcasting deal with DAZN. Now it would appear that the Italian government may allow for the promotion to host an event inside the famous Colosseum.
Rome Capital Sports Commission president Angelo Diario was present at a press conference for Bellator 203 on Wednesday, in which the individual revealed that he would like for Bellator MMA to host an event within the historic arena ruins. However, the decision would first have to be approved by the Italian government.
Speaking to MMA Junkie, Scott Coker offered his thoughts on the matter.
“(Expletive) amazing. That’s what it would look like.”
“He gave us some positive remarks and said that’s a possibility now, which is unbelievable. That’s like one of my goals. … That’s a dream come true. We’re going to work hard to make this happen.”
