The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Las Vegas, Nev. tonight, July 6, for the promotion’s latest fight card. The highly anticipated finale of The Ultimate Fighter 27 is going down inside the Pearl Theatre.
Continuing the night of fights, women’s flyweight Roxanne Modafferi will be looking to avenge a loss to Barb Honchak as the two mixed martial artists battle it out for the Las Vegas crowd. The UFC results may be seen below.
The fight opened up at a methodical pace, as neither fighter appeared to be in a rush to devolve the fight to an all out war. Modafferi managed to get her opponent to the canvas in the final half of the round, but Honchak managed to neutralize her opponent’s ground and pound with a tight guard.
Modafferi bulldozed her opponent to the ground early in the second round, raining down some heavy ground and pound. Taking the mount position, Modafferi began smashing her opponent with damaging elbows.
The referee decided he had seen enough and called an end to the contest, as Modafferi avenged her previous loss to Honchak.
