“Shogun” Rua Breaks His Silence Following Brutal Knockout Loss

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua suffered a brutal loss over the weekend. Now the former title holder has come forward with a statement over the matter.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Hamburg, Germany on Sunday, July 22, to host UFC Fight Night 134. Headlining the night’s card, Mauricio Rua went toe-to-toe with Anthony Smith.

Smith put on a dominant performance over his opponent, ultimately earning a first round knockout victory. Taking to Instagram, Rua has now come forward with a lengthy response to his recent loss.

“Unfortunately we don’t always get the result we want, and to understand that fact is part of life. Congratulations to Anthony Smith. For so many times I was celebrating at this moment and I can’t take his merits from him. I dedicated myself, trained hard, and did all that was within my reach for this fight, but he was better yesterday. Life continues, thank you all for the support.”

Por tantas e tantas vezes eu estive comemorando nesse momento e não posso tirar o mérito dele.
