Former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Pride legend Wanderlei Silva have crossed paths inside the cage on three different occasions. Now the two fighters are locked in for a fourth.
Wanderlei Silva has earned a victory over “Rampage” twice before. However, Jackson finished Silva in their most recent outing.
Now nearly a decade later, the two mixed martial artists have been locked down for a fight under the banner of Bellator MMA in September within San Jose, Calif.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, as seen within the video below, Wanderlei Silva revealed his thoughts on the match up.
“I’m upset with the guy. He really hit me with that punch last time, knocked me out, and gave me an extra punch on the ground, so that gives me room for maybe giving back the kindness.”
Speaking on soccer kicks, once legal in Pride but quite illegal in Bellator MMA, Silva said:
“I do [miss them], but we’ll see when the time comes, anything can happen,” Silva said. “In this fight, I don’t know. We’ll see. Watch it because anything can happen.”
