UFC superstar Conor McGregor had his big court date back on July 26. “Notorious” was involved in a fracas that took place in Brooklyn, New York back on April 5 that left a UFC charter bus damaged and multiple people injured.
That being said, McGregor struck a plea deal with the New York court system that avoided any felony charges or jail time. Rather, the Ireland native must perform community service, take an anger management evaluation and pay restitution for the damaged bus.
Speaking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, UFC President Dana White has come forward to claim that McGregor lost a large sum of money throughout the process.
“What do you want me to do?” White said. “The guy has been out for two years from MMA, fought Floyd (Mayweather Jr.) a year ago. There is a lot of behind the scene stuff that I am not going to talk about anyway, but this guy has lost a lot of money. There is not much more I can do.
“If you don’t like it, then don’t watch the Khabib vs. Conor fight. Stop.”
Conor McGregor is now set to face off against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229 on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas, live on pay-per-view.
