UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw successfully defended his title on Saturday at UFC 227. The fighter earned a second round TKO victory over former title holder Cody Garbrandt in a heated rematch.
Now former champion Dominick Cruz has come forward to explain why he deserves a shot at the title next. Speaking on ESPN’s Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Cruz said:
“I know I deserve that title shot. because I defended that title more times than anyone in the history of the division.”
“The problem is, I beat him already. You can’t be the best unless you beat the guy that beat you. It’s just common sense. Everybody in the world knows that, including him.”
