Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko is now locked in to fight reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano. With the opening betting odds having been released, it would appear that “Bullet” is a historically massive betting favorite.
Valentina Shevchenko made her women’s flyweight debut against UFC newcomer Priscila Cachoeira, earning a lopsided submission victory over the fighter. Meanwhile, Nicco Montano earned the women’s flyweight title by coming out on top of The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale.
Now Montano and Shevchenko are set to throw down in the co-main event of UFC 228 on Sept. 8 in Dallas, Texas. The event will be available live on pay-per-view.
Betting site betdsi.eu has granted Valentina Shevchenko a massive betting favorite at -900 and Nicco Montano an underdog at + 550. Shevchenko is now the largest betting favorite over a reigning champion in a title fight within combat sports history.
