Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo earned a UFC belt over the weekend. That being said, the fight was nearly over before it could truly begin.
UFC 227 took place inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday, Aug. 4. The event went down live on pay-per-view for fight fans worldwide, offering a fight card full of exciting match ups.
Co-headlining the night’s event, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson faced off against Henry Cejudo. The fight ultimately went the distance with Cejudo earning a split decision victory over his opponent.
That being said, Cejudo rolled his ankle twice within the opening moments of the first round. For nearly the first five minutes of the fight, it seemed that Cejudo was not going to be able to get his bearings.
