Santos And Holland Open Up UFC 227 PPV With Fight Of The Night Contender

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Los Angeles, Calif. tonight for the latest fight card from the promotion. Now the time has come to take a look at the UFC results from the opening fight for the night’s exciting main card.

The highly anticipated fight card for UFC 227 is taking place tonight, Aug. 4, from within the Staples Center for the Los Angeles crowd. Kicking off the night’s live pay-per-view main card, middleweights Thiago Santos and Kevin Holland are throwing down in an octagon battle for division dominance.

The fight kicked off at a brisk pace, as Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series star Kevin Holland managed to lock in an armbar attempt early in the fight. However, Santos escaped the position and began raining down bombs on his opponent.

Holland managed to make it back to his feet after being dealt some serious ground and pound from his opponent. This was seemingly a large round for Santos.

Santos landed some massive shots on Holland early in the second round, quickly taking his opponent to the canvas once again. Holland eventually managed to take side control over his opponent, pummeling the fighter with ground and pound of his own.

Holland certainly returned in the second round with a vengeance.

In the final round, Santos managed to get the mount position over his opponent. From there, Santos pummeled his opponent with some powerful shots.

However, Holland made it back to his feet. From there, Santos teed off with another flurry of strikes before taking his opponent to the canvas once again.

Santos then locked in an arm triangle choke in the final minute of the fight. However, Holland was able to escape the position.

Still, neither final was able to get a finish. This one has gone the distance.
