With momentum building for the upcoming UFC 229 event, featuring a lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregogr, the UFC brass opted in on an additional Team McGregor vs. Team Khabib fight, but now it’s been put off.
It is team McGregor’s Artem Lobov who is now set to face Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate, Zubayra Tukhugov. And this fight was expected to take place at UFC 229 too, adding a little spice to the rivalry in the night’s main event.
Instead, thanks to a failed Zubayra Tukhugov USADA drug test, this fight can’t take place at UFC 229, and instead has been booked for UFC Fight Night 138 a few weeks later.
